Day 16: FedEx festive top tips for small businesses
Christmas is coming and at FedEx we want to help your business be fully prepared this festive season. As a result, please find today’s top tip below:
#16 Streamline your service
During the busy Christmas period some SMEs can run the risk of having too much business. To some it may sound like an ideal scenario, but in the “click and collect” era people are no longer willing to wait around. If your business struggles to cope with the increased demand during this busy period it could potentially put customers off and end up doing your business more harm than good.
You can never be 100% sure when customers will arrive but having processes in place to ensure your customers are served as quickly as possible – once they do arrive - is crucial. Offering self-service isn’t an option or suitable for some businesses, yet having a “fast pay” area is another alternative, and will appeal to those who know what they want and want to avoid the crowds.
Going contactless, or at least having a roaming card machine or tablet available, is also worth considering during the run-up to Christmas and will save your customers a bundle of time.
