Barratt appoints new Commercial Director
Leading house builder Barratt Developments has appointed a new Commercial Director to its Yorkshire East division following a successful period of growth. Having acquired more than 40% of available land across the region this year, the house builder is helping to appease the regional housing crisis and has appointed Steven Doyle to the role of Commercial Director to help build on and strengthen this growth across East, North and South Yorkshire.
With over 25 years of industry experience, Steven will be drawing on his expertise to help further build on the impressive 23% growth the company has experienced this year, which has impacted on the local economy with over £25million being invested in more than 100 Yorkshire based subcontractor businesses this year alone. As Commercial Director, Steven will achieve this growth via strategic assessments relating to all viable operations; including streamlining and building on relations with local businesses and spearheading a comprehensive strategy for delivery.
On his new role, Steven commented: “I have been fortunate enough to work for some well respected brands over the years, and joining Barratt at this time provides me with a hugely exciting challenge. With the strong team that is in place I’m looking forward to helping Barratt build on its current reputation as a five star house builder, strengthen the commercially sound operation in place and develop the existing team.
Paul Newman, Managing Director at Barratt Developments Yorkshire East, commented: “Steve has a wealth of experience to bring to the table, not least working with other major house builders in the North of England. The Yorkshire East division is currently growing in a very positive and sustained way, which is proving very fruitful for the local economy and indeed local people. We anticipate this growth continuing throughout 2015, and see Steven playing a vital role in this.”
