Leeds law firm Schofield Sweeney advises on £9.5 million Worcester deal

Schofield Sweeney has advised Leeds-based healthcare software provider EMIS Group on the purchase of medical imaging in a deal worth up to £9.5 million.

Medical Imaging, a Worcester based diabetic eye screening company, provides screening services to more than 500,000 patients in England.

It is the latest acquisition for EMIS Group which supports its strategy of providing cross-organisational healthcare systems and further enhances its position in diabetic eye screening.

EMIS bought Digital Healthcare last year and said then that it saw opportunities to provide an end-to-end managed diabetic retinopathy screening service.

EMIS will pay £6.5 million initially, which will come from the group’s existing bank facility. It will then pay a further £500k next December, with the potential for a further £2.5 million based on performance targets for the 2015-16 financial year.

Martin Sweeney, Steven Millward and Caroline Thompson-Hayes from Schofield Sweeney’s corporate team advised the EMIS Group.
