Hambleton businesses have ‘thirst’ for networking
Following the success of the first ‘Thirsty Thursday’ networking event in Stokesley at the end of last year, organisers have announced plans for another.
Over 40 businesses took part in the informal event, held at The Mill on Springfield in Stokesley.
Thanks to demand, Thirsty Thursday will now become a regular event for businesses and individuals in Stokesley and the surrounding areas.
The next event will take place on Thursday 22nd January at The Mill with plans to hold it at various locations around Stokesley in the coming months.
The aim of the informal get-together is to allow businesses to meet after work, between 5pm and 7pm, and talk about new projects, events and opportunities.
Stokesley businesswomen Anna Addison, who runs PR company Anna Addison Associates, and Sue Thompson, who runs design company Catch Design Management, came up with the idea for Thirsty Thursday after meeting through Superfast North Yorkshire when they recognised the need for an informal networking event for people living and working in Stokesley and the surrounding towns and villages.
Anna said: “The first Thirsty Thursday exceeded everyone’s expectations with over 40 people coming along from not only Stokesley but places such as Northallerton, Saltburn, Guisborough and Helmsley. We’ve already heard of people getting results from the event which is so encouraging. We now plan to host the events regularly at various locations in Stokesley to showcase what the town has to offer.”
Sue said: “There are hundreds of thriving businesses in and around Stokesley and many are home-based so people may not even know they exist. Thirsty Thursday proved to be an incredible opportunity to meet a huge variety of people from estate agents and solicitors to artists, therapists and industrial companies.”
The next Thirsty Thursday takes place on Thursday 22nd January at The Mill on Springfield in Stokesley between 5 and 7pm. Businesses from around the Stokesley area are invited to attend.
