Cutting Technologies teams up with interior design firm for disused Harrogate hotel job

Barnsley creative laser cutting and engraving firm Cutting Technologies has helped a leading interior design firm on a disused Harrogate hotel project.

Style Contracts, based in Knutsford, Cheshire, approached Cutting Technologies to support them in transforming Harrogate’s The West Park Hotel.

The West Park Hotel had fallen into disuse before being bought by Provence Inns, a collection of traditional Yorkshire pubs. As Provence Inns’ first hotel in its collection, it was imperative that the team created something truly spectacular.

Jane Robinson, director at Cutting Technologies, explained: “This was a challenging but extremely rewarding project to work on, and it’s great to see everyone’s hard work recognised with a Northern Design Award.

“The intricate detail required for the copper oak leaves would have caused us a real headache in the past, as copper has traditionally been a very difficult material to cut.

“But thanks to investment in a state of the art Fiber laser, cutting non-ferrous materials like copper has become pretty straightforward, and the results on this project speak for themselves.”

Katie McCarthy, design director, said: “Working with Cutting Technologies made all the difference on this project. Jane and the team couldn’t have been more helpful in exploring options and helping us achieve something very special.

“They really understand the creative process and worked with us to develop our ideas. Our award is also a pat on the back for everyone involved.”

The finished result was so impressive that the project won a coveted Northern Design Award, in the Hotel Interior Design category.
