Leeds City Region is preparing for its most ambitious programme of activity at MIPIM 2015 (10-13 March 2015), by announcing Wellington Place as its headline partner for the international property forum.

The Leeds city centre development is the latest representative from the private sector to join the Leeds City Region delegation that will demonstrate the confidence and potential in the region to international investors, developers and occupiers.

Wellington Place, which is funded by Hermes Investment Management and Canada Pension Plan Investment Board (CPPIB) and managed and developed by MEPC, will be represented in a packed programme of activity that will see the city region unveil a series of large scale investment opportunities. In addition, Leeds City Region will promote the strategic opportunities around HS2 and the wider potential of a Northern Powerhouse to the global audience.

James Dipple, chief executive of MEPC, said: “MEPC, working with Hermes Investment Management and CPPIB, is committed to delivering a connected North that rebalances the UK economy and drives growth and jobs for UK plc. Wellington Place is part of this commitment and is an outstanding new urban quarter and business location, which is already home to Sky Bet, Allianz, Irwin Mitchell and Shulmans LLP and is creating an exciting new environment within Leeds.

“MIPIM offers the private sector leaders a fantastic opportunity to demonstrate why Leeds City Region, is the premier investment-ready location in the UK to the attendees from around the world, as well as building long-standing relationships with key influencers.”

Tom Riordan, chief executive of Leeds City Council, added: “This year’s MIPIM is the most ambitious yet for Leeds and the City Region. The last few years have been an exciting time, with new developments opening and new builds breaking ground across the city. We’re delighted that Wellington Place will be promoted as part of the Leeds City Region delegation and will be able to provide first hand commentary on the unique benefits of Leeds and the wider city region to occupiers.”
