Green light for Crawley retail park
Plans to open a brand new retail park in Manor Royal, Crawley, have been approved by the council.
According to Crawley News, the development, which will be called Acorn Retail Park, will house an Aldi supermarket, a new Marks and Spencer and a Smyths Toys shop.
Cantium Developments will also create 180 parking spaces at the retail unit.
Chris Boulter, from Cantium, said: “The site is fully pre-let to Aldi, M&S Simply Food and Smyths Toys. We expect construction to commence sometime in the first half of 2015.”
At the end of last year, Aldi bosses promised to create 35,000 jobs in the UK in the next eight years by opening 550 new stores.
The M&S store will include an in-store café with an external seating area. The Smyths Toys shop will be the chain’s first store in Crawley.
