£53,000 Extra in Property Seller’s Pocket

At the latest South Yorkshire Property Auction, a seller received a huge £53,000 over their starting price by using iam-sold’s modern version of auction. iam-sold achieved a fantastic result using intelligent marketing techniques to increase the property’s exposure which, in turn, generated more interested buyers looking to bid.

The 3 bedroom, semi-detached house on Lindum Drive in Wickersley was sold through partner estate agent Merryweathers, an agent based in South Yorkshire who employ the iam-sold auction techniques to sell their clients’ properties. With its superb location and vast potential through refurbishment, as well as desirable gardens and a detached garage, the property had no problems winning interest, with 38 viewings arranged and attended before the live event.

At the South Yorkshire Property Auction on the 26th February, the property entered the auction with an attractive starting price of £120,000. The property eventually sold for £173,000, a huge £53,000 over the starting price.

Another property that Merryweathers sold through the auction was a 2 bedroom detached bungalow in Rotherham. Holmefield on Common Lane was a late entry to the live auction event at the New York Stadium. The bungalow had many sought after features including 1.6 acres of land with a paddock, large double garage and workshop as well as agricultural buildings and a further 7.63 acres of farmed land. Guaranteed to attract potential buyers, the property had a starting bid of £265,000 and had no problems selling, with a final sale price of £300,000; £35,000 over the starting price.

Both of these properties, as well as many other properties from Merryweathers achieved more than one would usually expect from a property auction. Auctions have a stigma attached; that properties always sell for less, that it is only available for investors or cash purchases and so on. But iam-sold’s modern auction technique eliminates these notions, by providing opportunities for competitive bidding, availability for anyone to buy including those who would like to buy with a mortgage and security for the buyer by setting their own reserve price, so their property will only sell for a price they are happy with.

The South Yorkshire Property Auction has a fantastic year ahead, with 5 more auctions throughout 2015. The next event is on the 30th April, the iam-sold team urge anyone looking to sell at the next live event to get in touch on 01709 717 191 or by email enquiries@iam-sold.co.uk
