Carter Jonas appointed to Harrogate housing development

Property consultancy Carter Jonas has been appointed to market a new development of 25 houses and apartments at The Old Police Station in Harrogate.

The iconic Grade II listed building on North Park Road was designed in the “Queen Anne Revival” style by West Riding county architect Percy Oates Platts.

The building was occupied as the police headquarters for the Claro Division from 1930 up until 2012 when the police relocated to a purpose built headquarters.

Purchased by Harrogate Restoration LLP in May 2013, the building is currently being converted into 16 apartments and 4 houses, with an additional 5 houses being built in the grounds.

Anne Haggas, head of the New Homes Division for Carter Jonas in the North commented: “The development of the Old Police Station provides a fantastic opportunity to acquire individually designed apartments or houses within a secure gated environment, situated within a stone’s throw of Harrogate’s cosmopolitan town centre. Harrogate has been voted the happiest place to live by Rightmove in 2013 and 2014.”

The show house at the development is due to open in May.
