Skipton residential scheme sells out within 5 weeks

The converted former head office of Skipton building Society has sold all 39 residential apartments in just five weeks, the Ilkley-based property developer Candelisa revealed.

First time buyers, professionals, investors and downsizers, have all made purchases at the Providence Quarter development in Skipton town centre.

The conversion of the building, once described by Prince Charles as an ‘out-of -scale monster’, was one of the first schemes in the area to take advantage of ‘permitted development rights’, a national grant of planning permission which allows certain building works and changes of use to be carried out without the need for a planning application.

In addition, Candelisa is currently working at a building adjacent to Providence Quarter which is being converted into two and three bedroom apartments. Caroline House will also incorporate Candelisa’s new head office and is expected to be completed in July this year.

Providence Quarter and Caroline House are among eight regeneration and new build schemes which Candelisa is scheduled to develop and bring to market in 2015.

The portfolio of future developments includes regeneration projects in Leeds, Skipton, Settle and Haworth, and new build homes in Skipton and Pendle.
