Boro Taxis Aim High
Local taxi firm Boro Cars will create a further 100 taxi driver jobs from March 2015 in the Middlesbrough, Stockton and Redcar areas, following their successful partnership with apprenticeship provider Aim Higher Training Solutions.
Since its formation in April 2014, the partnership has already given 183 local people the opportunity to complete a free driving qualification, with 120 learners securing employment with the firm to date.
Learners can complete a Level 2 Certificate of the role of Professional Taxi Driving and Private Hire, with a guaranteed job with Boro Cars upon completion, providing they participate well in training and achieve a passing grade.
The only conditions for applicants are they must hold a full, UK driving licence with no more than 6 points, be over the age of 24 and been driving for over 2 years. Successful learners are also required to pass a CRB and simple medical check.
Kirsty Campbell, Centre Manager for Aim High Training Solutions, said: “We always aim to provide exceptional training which is relevant and industry based.
“Working with Boro Cars means that learners have the benefit of our experienced assessors, as well as a tangible job lead when their qualification is finished. With high, local unemployment rates it’s a fantastic opportunity for us to be able to offer a guaranteed career when the training is complete.”
Having this successful relationship means that there is the potential of furthering their relationship in the future.
Mohammed Bashir, Founder of Boro Taxis, said: “We are extremely focused on making sure all of our taxi drivers are trained up to the highest possible standards. “This, allied with our attention to detail, especially in terms of customer care, is crucial to Boro Taxis’s continuing success.”
