Doncaster-based DB Schenker Rail UK launches online customer order portal
Doncaster’s DB Schenker Rail UK has launched yet another first industry after developing an online platform that customers can use on any device with a browser.
The portal, called TOIS G4, enables customers to access and manage any order that they place with the rail freight company.
In addition, the portal is also fully integrated with the Anubis order management system introduced by DB Schenker, and now this enhanced functionality will be available for customer use.
This includes updated information about their order status, tracking and tracing, transport updates, container movement analysis, invoicing data and customizable management reporting.
The portal is designed for mobile use and is compatible with all mobile systems, including Apple iOS, Android and Windows 8. This makes the online platform ideal for mobile applications such as uploading Proof of Delivery (PODs) in real time.
TOIS G4 can support hundreds of simultaneous users and multiple applications in order to cover all logistics processes including rail & road transport, distribution, intermodal terminals, automotive compounds and warehouse management.
After being developed with the latest internet technologies, including radiofrequency applications and GPS cartography to ensure full supply chain coverage, the portal provides multiple languages and is available throughout Europe.
This annoucement comes only a week after the rail freight company lauched an eco friendly productthat allows customers to offset 100% of their CO2 emissions.
Steve Pryce, head of marketing at DB Schenker Rail UK, said: “The new DB Schenker online portal is a revolution in rail logistics and takes the customer experience to a whole new level. The portal integrates rail fully into the supply chain and gives customers unprecedented transparency and control of their rail logistics activities.
“We look forward to seeing new and existing customers using the DB Schenker customer portal. This development is groundbreaking for the UK intermodal market and we are proud to be showcasing it at Multimodal 2015.”
