Sun Branding Solutions appoints new packaging development managers
Sun Branding Solutions has appointed Andrew Moorley and Matthew Kensall as packaging development managers to work on all aspects of packaging development, including cost reduction, sustainability, packaging improvements and innovation for key clients.
Moorley will be working with a major retailer from the Bradford offices and Kensall will be based in the London offices working on southern-based clients.
Moorley was the sole director of Endwaste Ltd, established following his position with WRAP (Waste Resource Action Programme), where he delivered waste prevention and packaging optimisation strategies to support the Courtauld Commitment supply chain reduction targets. While at Endwaste, Moorley worked with a major retailer and global brewery to prevent waste in manufacturing and retail supply chains by improving packaging optimisation and resource efficiency.
Kensall previously worked as a packaging technologist for Sainsbury’s overseeing a variety of food, home, beauty and household categories. He also created Sainsbury’s ‘Bottle for life’ concept and refill strategy as well as reduced packaging weight across the range of Sainsbury’s products. Prior to Sainsbury’s he worked with Mothercare and Woolworths developing packaging solutions to meet their needs.
Moorley said: “I am really looking forward to developing innovative packaging to prevent waste in both the supply and retail chains. Working with a major retailer, I’m hoping to be able to push the boundaries of what is possible with packaging efficiency.”
Kensall said: “Sun Branding Solutions has so much packaging expertise and a really enviable client base. Helping to drive packaging sustainability and cost reduction is what I am hoping to be able to make a difference in and can’t wait to get stuck into these key areas amongst others for our clients.”
Gillian Garside-Wight, technology director of Sun Branding Solutions said: “Both Andrew and Matthew have a wealth of packaging development knowledge under their belts making them great additions to the team, both in London and Bradford. Both will be crucial in driving our Brandineering positioning and developing packaging improvements for some of the UK’s most recognised retailers.”
