Corecom Consulting contributes to raising graduate prospects
Specialists at Leeds-based IT and energy business, Corecom Consulting, provided students at Leeds Beckett University with a Guest Lecture on how to develop a winning Portfolio for employers in a bid to raise the employment prospects of graduates.
Corecom provided real-life online portfolio examples and engaging discussions were had during the session around what worked and what could be improved. Interview and application tips were shared and advice was provided to students regarding how to use LinkedIn for portfolio and self-promotion.
Andreas Xiarchos, Development Specialist at Corecom Consulting and former Leeds Beckett University student said:
“The session is a really valuable opportunity for students to learn how to stand out from the crowd when applying for jobs.
“As a fairly recent graduate myself, I would have valued some insights and guidance like this prior to starting the graduate application and interview process. LinkedIn in particular is a very valuable tool for self-promotion and networking.”
The seminar appealed to students from Business Information Technology, Computing, Computer Science, Electronic and Electrical Engineering and Computer Forensics and Security.
Thomas Chambers, Computing student at Leeds Beckett University said:
“The seminar demonstrated professional portfolios which was useful as it has given me ideas about something I haven’t really considered before.
“I am looking forward to building my portfolio, improving my LinkedIn account and adding to my network of contacts.”
Corecom Consulting is a rapidly expanding Leeds-based business specialising in IT and energy recruitment. The company is looking forward to continuing a very successful partnership with Leeds Beckett University and plans to host a networking event for graduates in the coming months.
