From its base in Manchester, the team has advised on a number of high profile transactions covering private hospitals, care homes and medical technology.
Notable deals include the £15.3m acquisition of designer-manufacturer First Water by global supplier of bonding materials Scapa Group, as well as LDC’s buyout of leading clinical trials company Synexus, for £83m.
Director at Deloitte, Paul Maddison, said: “The North West is home to a number of dynamic and innovative healthcare companies, which has sparked an increase in M&A from UK investors expanding domestically and overseas.
“In the last six months, there has been a significant uptick from US buyers making strategic acquisitions in the UK, with the healthcare sector offering prospects of long-term investment and stable returns.”
