London photo printing startup secures $2m seed funding

PRYYNT, a startup which creates a new revenue stream for iOS and Android apps by enabling users to order printed photo products at the push of a button, has announced seed funding of $2m, at a valuation of over $20m, ahead of its launch.

The London-based startup, which enables printed photos to be ordered within an app and delivered anywhere in the world, has already signed up more than 40 apps, including four of the top ten photo apps, with a combined active user base of more than 500m people worldwide to be integrated shortly after launch.

Some of PRYYNT’s launch partners include some leading camera and photo apps including Camera MX, Insta Shape Pro and Best Postcard Maker.

The company provides free SDKs which, once integrated into an app, add a “PRYYNT” button in the app.

PRYYNT has raised $2m to fund its launch and is one of a select few London start-ups which will be appearing at the Collision conference in Las Vegas on May 5th & 6th.

PRYYNT founder and CEO James Washer said: “Everyone loves sharing photos through mobile apps but often that’s where these images stay - on a screen,

“We want to help people reclaim some of the physical from the digital by making quality photo printing super easy and accessible. The great thing about PRYYNT is that everybody wins, apps can monetize with zero investment and zero friction whilst offering their user a fantastic experience”.

Georg Krüger, product & marketing manager at APPIC Labs, said, “PRYYNT’s turn-key service and smooth integration made this an obvious choice for our leading photo app, Camera MX.

“We love that our users can now easily send postcards, greeting cards and more anywhere in the World straight from Camera MX. PRYYNT has offered a valuable new feature to our users whilst generating a substantial new revenue stream for APPIC Labs”.
