New Hough End Leisure Centre is reaching its final stages of construction
The new leisure centre, located near to Hough End playing fields on Princess Road, south Manchester is set to finish with doors opening on the 15 June 2015.
The centre boasts a 25 metre six lane swimming pool and a 17 metre learner pool, as well as a gym with 90 stations, two squash courts and a sauna.
Hough End Leisure Centre is part of a major programme of investment in leisure facilities being undertaken by Manchester City Council that when complete will have created three new leisure centres.
Hough End is the second of these centres, joining the East Manchester Leisure Centre which opened late last year and the new Arcadia Centre in Levenshulme, where work is well underway.
Councillor Rosa Battle, Manchester City Council executive member for culture and leisure said: “The city council has a commitment to providing top quality leisure facilities so residents have everything they need to live healthier and happier lives.
“Leisure centres are at the heart of local communities and our investment in Hough End, along with other new facilities in the city, ensures local residents have access to modern equipment and high-quality pools in their own neighbourhoods.”
