Taylor&Emmet talks social media dos and don'ts
Sheffield’s Taylor&Emmet LLP is inviting local employers to a free breakfast seminar focusing on the practical steps they can take to avoid social media misuse.
The firm’s employment law experts will be showing businesses how to enhance their brand, without loss of reputation, confidential information or customers.
Held in the Crucible Theatre’s Adelphi Room on June 18, this interactive workshop will explore the legal issues arising from employee social media use and how they can be managed effectively. It will look at when disciplinary action can be taken, who owns and controls content and how to respond to worst case scenarios or departing staff.
Training will be delivered by Taylor&Emmet’s experienced employment law solicitors who will present case studies and answer questions from the audience. Delegates will also have an opportunity to network before and after the seminar and take away a copy of the firm’s social media policy and guidelines.
David Poddington, Taylor&Emmet’s head of employment law, said: “Social media is a great, cost effective way to engage with potential customers, but letting employees loose in such a public forum is also dangerous. A flippant or critical comment made in haste, can undo years of hard work in a matter of moments. We want to help businesses make the best of this new marketing platform, by setting clear boundaries that manage risk without stifling creativity.”
As this event is free of charge, reservations must be made in advance. To find out more, contact Taylor&Emmet’s marketing assistant, Jenni Arundale, on (0114) 218 4000, email events@tayloremmet.co.uk or book online at www.tayloremmet.co.uk/advance
