Barratt celebrates local tradespeople at Annual Partner Awards
To recognise its relationships with local tradespeople, Barratt Developments in the North East held the fourth Annual Partner Awards on April 29th to mark the success of its local developments and the pivotal roles played by subcontractors. Humac Civil Engineering and Bristan Group Limited were given Outstanding Performance Awards, whilst the Construction Director’s Award went to Barclay Roofing.
The ceremony was held at Hardwick Hall in Durham and attracted the largest attendance in the event’s history - over 300 people from various subcontractor companies from across the region, which have worked with Barratt over the past year. Awards were presented to individuals representing 45 different core subcontractors – each of which has been instrumental in the company’s success in the North East.
Over £4,500 was raised at the event for the People’s Kitchen, a charity that provides hot meals, clothing and bedding to the most disadvantaged, homeless and vulnerable in and around Newcastle.
Scott Lester, Construction Director at Barratt Developments North East, commented: “It is very important for us to have close working relationships with local subcontractors. They form a core part of the operational side of the business and, especially in the current market, it is vital that all of our subcontractors are continually informed of the demands placed on them and what we all, as a team, have to provide to ensure the best possible end results.
“Congratulations to all those who won an award – it was our biggest awards evening yet, showing the growth of our relationships with subcontractors across the North East, and I want to thank everyone who has helped make the past 12 months as successful as they have been. We also raised over £5,000 on the night, with more funds still being collected through a raffle, as well as donations, which is outstanding so thank you to all who gave for the People’s Kitchen.”
