Revamp planned for 196 Deansgate
196 Deansgate, in the heart of Manchester city centre will be refurbished by Commercial Estates Group.
196 Deansgate consists of 45,000 sq ft office accommodation over five upper floors with retail space on the ground floor.
The building is already home to office occupiers including CityPress PR, Pharmacist Support, Adimus Limited and outdoor retailer, Blacks.
Planning consent has been granted to upgrade the first and second floors, each measuring 9,798 sq ft, to the same standard as the third, fourth and fifth floors, which have already been refurbished to Grade “A” specification.
The announcement coincides with the appointment of Canning O’Neill as joint agents with WHR.
Director of Canning O’Neill, Conrad O’Neill, said: “196 Deansgate is a stunning period office building with a touch of class.
“The first and second floor accommodation is being sympathetically remodeled to create modern offices, whilst taking care to preserve and enhance its original features.
“With planning consent now obtained, the main refurbishment works will shortly go out to tender with completion scheduled for the end of the year.”
