North Tyneside print company Elanders announces new MD
North Tyneside print, packaging and supply chain business Elanders UK has appointed Chris Hewitt as the company’s new Managing Director.
With an already established reputation for innovative commercial printing, Chris will be working with his team to develop Elanders’ service offering; spanning packaging, multi-channel marketing, digital print services, e-commerce solutions and supply chain fulfilment.
Hewitt steps up to the role of managing director following two and a half years as Elanders’ Sales and Marketing Director, and takes over from Kevin Rogers who has been appointed Elanders’ Head of Print & Packaging solutions Asia and member of Group Management.
Chris brings with him close to 30 years’ experience in leadership and positive business transformation developed working in sectors such as retail, automotive and training.
The company, which recently recorded a record UK turnover of £23 million in 2014, employs a total of 194 people across North Tyneside headquarters and other sites in Birmingham and Scotland.
Speaking of his appointment, Chris said: “What makes Elanders stand out is our breadth of capabilities and consultative approach, and in my new role I’ll be working with our team to ensure Elanders continues to deliver world-class customer service.
“In order to achieve this we must be able to provide the services and innovation our customers see as critical to their business, and so are focussed on future investment in processes, equipment and people.
“We know our business’ strengths and will continue to innovate and grow in these areas, while also looking to expand our offering into complementary sectors such as multi-channel marketing and packaging.
“Our mission is to encourage innovation and creativity while continuously improving processes and people, to add value for our clients. The next few years will be key to achieving this goal.”
Elanders moved into its 84,000 square foot North Tyneside headquarters in 1999 with ambitions to almost treble its turnover from £7m. Since this time, the company has invested in people and machinery, including a recent investment of over £1m into its digital printing facilities.
