PCS scoop Advanced Manufacturing and Technology Award
Leading plastic card manufacturer, Plastic Card Services (PCS), is celebrating after being crowned the winner of the Advanced Manufacturing/Technology category at the 2015 Insider Made in the North West Awards.
The specialist manufacturer scooped the award thanks to its unique Shield product, which tackles the issues identified with contactless payment systems, such as accidental transactions, card clash and data theft.
Rob Nicholls, managing director at PCS, said: “This is a significant innovation from the North West so it’s great to be recognised within the region for the extensive work we’ve done to make it possible.
“As contactless cards become more common, so does the potential for erroneous payments and fraud. The Shield technology can be easily incorporated into any type of plastic card, so simply slips into the consumers wallet protecting their contactless cards. It’s an ideal solution in sectors such as retail and travel, where data and payment protection is an issue.”
PCS will represent the North West in the Made in the UK Final 2015 in Liverpool on 9th July.
