Celebrations as guests tour new Liverpool headquarters
Customers, suppliers and staff were treated to Champagne and celebration cake as they were given their first official tour of Ventilation Surveys & Services (VSS) Ltd’s new Liverpool headquarters.
The UK’s leading ventilation hygiene and system surveying company has relocated to Sandon Way from the south of England and is using regional business funding to drive growth and expansion plans.
Forty specially invited guests, including clients and partners, attended an open day this month to view the 6,000 sq ft premises and hear about the company’s future plans. Plus more than 50 VSS staff, including those based in Ireland and site-based engineers and contract managers from throughout the UK, attended to see their new head office for the first time.
Chief executive officer of VSS, George Friend, said the city was feeling like home. Already VSS has taken on an additional 12 staff from the region and has won a range of contracts locally, due to start over the coming months.
“All of our staff, customers and partners who we work with regularly have been hearing about plans for our new head office for such a long time, so it was fantastic to be able to invite them along and show off our new facilities,” he said.
“We were delighted so many of our new contacts from the Liverpool area were able to come along and celebrate with us as well, including Paul Radcliffe from the Liverpool City Region Local Enterprise Partnership and staff from the Titanic Hotel, which has become something of a second home for many of us over the months we have worked to set up our office.”
VSS is due to launch its industry training centre, with world-class facilities, in July, to coincide with it hosting the AGM of the European Ventilation Hygiene Association.
VSS works with a wide range of clients, including hospital trusts, schools, hotels and restaurants, from single-outlet businesses to blue chip companies. Its services cover a variety of vital safety procedures such as fire damper testing, cleaning and maintenance of ductwork and extraction systems, plus provision of validation and certification.
Its relocation to Liverpool was made possible with the help of The North West Fund for Loans Plus, managed by FW Capital, and Liverpool’s Mayoral Investment Fund, using Regional Growth Fund money. Funding has also been secured from the Liverpool City Region Local Enterprise Partnership, as a contribution to professional services for business.
