Manufacturing and Engineering North East comes to Newcastle today
Newcastle’s Metro Radio Arena is set to host the Manufacturing & Engineering North East exhibition and conference today and tomorrow, gathering the industry’s speakers and innovative companies in one location for two days.
Independent market research and interviews with over 200 manufacturing and engineering decision makers from the North East confirmed a demand for a new type of manufacturing and engineering event.
Ed Tranter, Executive Director at event creators Findlay Media, explains how the event will showcase the North East’s strengths and provide a platform for the local and national manufacturers, engineers and their suppliers to meet, learn, solve problems and develop business.
“Historically manufacturing & engineering have been at the heart of the North East’s economy and today there are over 10,000 manufacturing and engineering design sites operating within a 100 mile radius of Newcastle.
“With major manufacturers such as Nissan and Hitachi investing in the region, that manufacturing and engineering legacy is still strong.”
The event will comprise three key elements: keynote conference sessions from industry leaders, practical workshops and an exhibition giving access to market leading suppliers covering the full range of design, production and manufacturing.
The event is supported by leading trade bodies and institutions, including the Manufacturing Advisory Service (MAS), North East LEP, Gateshead & Newcastle Inward Investment, Advanced Manufacturing Forum and the Institution of Engineering Designers (IED).
Headline sponsors include Fanuc and Lombard, while Schaeffler, WNT, Brownell, Renishaw, Micro Epsilon, Henkel, igus and Materialise are just some of the leading companies that will be exhibiting.
Ed continued: “The Manufacturing & Engineering North East event will build on the knowledge and experience of the region, giving both visitors and exhibitors the opportunity to source new suppliers, test equipment, acquire expert knowledge and forge new supply chain relationships.
“The event will display the North East’s fierce pride for one of its key industries. It’s an exciting time.”
Manufacturing & Engineering North East has been created and is supported by Findlay Media’s market-leading brands Works Management, Eureka, FAST, Machinery and New Electronics to meet that demand and to champion manufacturing industry in the region.
