Merseyside marine engineering company expands with new overseas partnership
SeaKing Electrical, the Merseyside-based marine engineering firm, has expanded its overseas operations after striking up a new partnership with an oil technology company in Finland.
SeaKing, which is based on the Wirral, has been unveiled as the official distributer to the UK’s maritime industry for the automation services of Valmet.
Dave Gillam, the MD of SeaKing Electrical, commented: “This partnership will play a vital role in the development of new skills and broaden our understanding of progressive technologies that bring benefits to customers. The Valmet brand association also greatly helps open up new business opportunities in international projects.”
The deal will see SeaKing providing engineers to install and service Valmet’s automation systems. Further, the Birkenhead company will support Valmet by coordinating projects and offering supply chain management services.
John Weierud, the director of Valmet Marine Automation, said of the partnership: “By joining forces with SeaKing Electrical, we will be in a better position to participate in marine automation projects both in the new build and retrofit business in the UK market.
“Valmet has strong automation expertise and advanced technology, which we can now combine with our new partner’s excellent local contacts and experience.”
