Calling All Nominations! Realex Payments Web Awards 2015

For the seventh year running, Realex Payments is the headline sponsor for the Web & eCommerce Awards.

For us, these awards really stand out in the Irish events calendar and they have a very special place in the Irish web community. Because nominations are free and open to the public, they give all Irish web and eCommerce businesses, big and small, a chance to be recognised for their great work. Previous winners have included IrishTimes.com, Luas.ie, Broadsheet.ie, DoneDeal.ie, Siliconrepublic.com and thejournal.ie.

The awards are on October 15th and the venue this year is the RDS Concert Hall. The evening will be hosted once again by Rick O’Shea, who always does a fantastic job. It’s an informal event, with a strict “no tuxedos” rule and it’s always great fun on the night, with lots of games, treats and prizes. It’s also a great way to meet and mingle with others in the Irish web community.

The Realex Payments Web Awards 2015 – Where Everyone Wants to be an Icon

We managed to lure in a bunch of willing (and some not so willing) Realex Payments staff and the stars of the show, Rick O’Shea and Damien Mulley, to channel their inner Steve Jobs by donning the iconic turtleneck and recreating the signature Jobs pose (Yes, we are Silicon Valley fans).

Award Categories

There are 30 award categories which encompass the news and media, entertainment and arts, technology and social, government, education and community, commerce and mobile sectors. Categories have been added for Best Sports News Site and Best Podcast to reflect the growth of these areas in recent years.

Most Influential Irish Website Ever

This year, there will also be an award for the ‘Most Influential Irish Website Ever’. This should be really interesting – be sure to nominate and have your say!

Nominations Now Open!

Nominations are open until 4pm on August 20th. The shortlist will be announced on September 2nd and the finalists on September 29th. To ensure fairness and transparency, entry is not open to any of the event sponsors.
