Manchester studio wins design contracts following restaurant revamp

Manchester-based design studio NoChintz has finished its transformation of a restaurant in the city’s Northern Quarter and snapped up several more design projects.

Following NoChintz’s work on the American-themed Infamous Diner for its client Mark Andrew Developments (MAD), the firm has been appointed to deliver refurbishment projects in a number of restaurants and bars across the city, including Walrus Bar, the Rosylee Tearooms and Fitzgerald Bar.

Amy Brown, the firm’s associate director, said: “This was a fun brief to work on and I really feel that our ideas have helped the client bring a genuine slice of everyday American life to Manchester.

“It was important that we injected colour and real, identifiable features into the space. Both our team and the client feel that these have helped create a family friendly, comfortable and flexible venue.”

In the Infamous Diner project, NoChintz advised on elements of the interior design, branding and signage. Features of the restaurant include black and white floor tiling, metal surfaces and retro American furnishings.

The director of NoChintz, Dominic Beardwell, commented: “As well as our commercial, residential and hotel work I’m delighted to see us picking up so many interesting leisure projects in Manchester.

“Restaurant and bar owners are under massive industry pressure to deliver new and exciting concepts which sustain the interest of consumers.”
