Barrowford IT firm creates 20 jobs thanks to six-figure Rosebud cash
After securing £367k in investment, Pendle-based cloud and IT firm Denwa is set to create 20 new jobs.
The Barrowford-based company, which already employs 30 people and is expecting to see its turnover double in the next 12 months, was awarded the funding by Lancashire County Council’s Rosebud Finance.
Rob Scott, the CEO of Denwa, said: “We are delighted to be awarded another round of Rosebud funding. It will help enormously with our expansion plans to grow the team and develop the business, and it’s a great compliment that we have funders wanting to invest in the future of Denwa.”
The company has its own training facility and, as part of a new recruitment drive, is seeking to get more young people onto its Sales Fast Track programme. Phase one of the recruitment push is currently underway, creating 10 of the 20 positions in Denwa’s service and sales departments.
Peter Rooney is the investment manager of Enterprise Ventures, which is the operator of Rosebud. He said: “Denwa is a high-growth business driven by a young and dynamic entrepreneur. However businesses like this need access to finance to support their expansion and are often unable to get the funds they need from conventional sources.
“This case shows how Rosebud is playing an important role in supporting business growth and job creation.”
With a name that means ‘telephone’ in Japanese, the company was founded in 2006 and has previously received two rounds of funding from the county council’s Rosebud financing package. Previous client wins for the firm include uniform supplier Simon Jersey and discount supermarket chain Aldi.
The chair of Lancashire County Developments Ltd, County Councillor Niki Penney, commented: “This is a significant investment by Rosebud that will directly create new jobs, which is great news.
“We’re delighted that Rosebud’s support has already helped the team at Denwa to develop their business. They’re now looking to grow their business further and we’re pleased that Rosebud has once again been able to help them.
“As well as finance, Rosebud also helps you to find the right advice and support that you need to develop your business.”
