Manchester City FC further reported that 5% were unemployed before working at the Etihad, and 1,400 students from the area have been involved in the renovation works.
The expansion project at the stadium has also resulted in full-time employment for 21 individuals who previously held trainee positions.
The work on the South Stand includes a revamped Legends Suite, which has expanded to twice its original size to become a 450-seat restaurant.
