Manchester City FC reveals employment and job creation details during Etihad revamp
In the build-up to unveiling the refurbished South Stand at the Etihad Stadium, Manchester City FC has revealed statistics about the individuals working at the site, and the jobs created as a result of the project.
According to a report from the football club, 45% of those employed at the ground are from Greater Manchester, while 10% are from East Manchester, where the stadium is located.
Manchester City FC further reported that 5% were unemployed before working at the Etihad, and 1,400 students from the area have been involved in the renovation works.
The expansion project at the stadium has also resulted in full-time employment for 21 individuals who previously held trainee positions.
The work on the South Stand includes a revamped Legends Suite, which has expanded to twice its original size to become a 450-seat restaurant.
