Drive Medical celebrates first year in Australia
Drive Medical Limited, a leading manufacturer and distributor of durable medical equipment, is celebrating after a successful first year in Australia.
The company established an office in Melbourne in May 2014 with just one member of staff and a limited product range. Over the last twelve months though, the company has seen significant customer demand resulting in Drive expanding their product range and recruiting two additional members of staff.
Selling only to trade, Drive Australia exhibited at the ATSA Independent Living Expo in Brisbane and the Daily Living Expo in Sydney to improve its profile, and now operates from three warehouse locations to provide the quickest delivery possible for customers. The warehouses are located in Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane.
Andrew Beaumont, business and sales manager at Drive Australia, said, “The Australian market is huge and we have so far just put a toe in the water. We are really pleased at how the last year has gone but we have some great plans for the future, including to continue growing the range and to have warehouses in all five of the major cities.”
Mr Beaumont has a wide range of industry experience, having previously worked for Welland Medical, one of the UK’s largest independent manufacturers of healthcare equipment and mobility aids, which was acquired by Drive Medical in 2011.
Kevin Beaumont, sales director at Drive Medical Ltd, commented, “We are really pleased with how the Australian operation has thrived since its launch and we are excited to see how the Australian market keeps developing for Drive over the next year and beyond.”
