Ovenu Beverley’s owner aims for expansion following launch
A businessman, based in Beverly, is aiming to expand his business afte rlaunching in East Yorkshire.
Mark Smith, originally from Essex, moved to the region 10 years ago and is now the owner of Ovenu Beverley, which provides an environmentally friendly oven valeting service.
Mark purchased the Beverley franchise from previous owner Jenny Fothergill, and became his own boss following a series of temporary jobs after taking redundancy in 2012.
Mr Smith said: “I have always wanted to run my own business and as soon as the opportunity became available with Ovenu, it was a no-brainer. The company has an excellent track record and Jenny has left behind a thriving business.
“I am now looking to take the business forward by building on its already large and loyal customer base, who I am looking forward to getting to know. My long term aim is to expand the business and hopefully I will be in a position to take on a sub-contractor in the near future and create further jobs as the business grows.”
Ovenu Beverley serves homes and businesses throughout Beverley, including Cottingham, Willerby, Swanland, Hessle, Brough, Kingswood, Market Weighton, Hornsea, Bilton and all surrounding towns and villages in the East Riding of Yorkshire.
Rik Hellewell, managing director and founder of Ovenu, added: “Mark’s drive and determination to succeed will put him in good stead as he looks to build on Ovenu Beverley’s already sterling reputation. I am delighted that Mark is fulfilling one of his lifelong ambitions, in becoming his own boss, and I would like to wish him all the best with his business.”
Ovenu is a franchise network made up of more than 100 businesses owned by men and women working throughout the UK.
The Ovenu valeting process involves dismantling key components of an oven such as the door, interior panels, fan and shelves and placing them into design-registered tank equipment, which uses safe, non-caustic products to clean the oven parts. The whole process takes around three to four hours and leaves the oven, hob and exterior in immaculate condition.
