Liverpool veterinary training company lands six-figure funding

The Webinar Vet, an online provider of continuing professional development (CPD) services for vets, has received £300k in equity funding from The North West Fund for Digital & Creative.

The Liverpool firm plans to use the venture capital investment to create jobs and develop its digital training platform.

Anthony Chadwick, the company’s CEO and founder, said: “We are delighted to have partnered with The North West Fund.

“The capital, operating skill and extensive network they bring to our business will help us develop new ways to help the veterinary community satisfy their CPD and other training requirements.”

He added: “We operate via a community marketplace business model enabling our members to access content developed and delivered by veterinary specialists from around the globe, at any time, from any device.

“Many members are juggling busy family lives with their veterinary profession. WebinarCPD enables practitioners to keep up to date at any time in their own home or office.”

According to investment manager Rupert Wingate-Saul of AXM Venture Capital, which runs The North West Fund for Digital & Creative, the Webinar Vet has been self-funded since it was founded. He said the finance from the North West Fund is the company’s first externally raised capital.

Rupert commented: “When looking for investments we like to find companies solving a real need for their customers.

“We believe The Webinar Vet platform achieves this and we are excited to help the company achieve its next stage of growth.”
