Building firm Pochin’s lands £9.5m Castlefield contract
Middlewich-based construction and property development specialist Pochin’s Ltd has secured a £9.5m contract to deliver a new 75,000 sq ft residential project in the Castlefield district of Manchester.
Property developer DeTrafford Estates Group, which is also based in Cheshire, has appointed Pochin’s to build The Roof Gardens at One Ellesmere Street, a project comprising a rooftop garden framed with corten steel and two tree-lined courtyards.
Jonathan Pochin, the managing director of Pochin Construction, said of the contract win: “We are delighted to be working on the One Ellesmere Street development.
“It is a privilege to be involved with a project that will provide over 70 new homes for people in Manchester city centre.”
He added: “Pochin’s involvement is a great illustration of our continued commitment to residential projects and innovative approach to development in the region.”
Building work on the site is due for completion in January 2017.
DeTrafford Estates Group’s founder and director, Gary Jackson, commented: “The Roof Gardens are an exciting new lifestyle opportunity in Manchester, inspired by New York’s rooftop living.
“We constantly strive to develop pioneering concepts that can be integrated fully within the everyday necessities of the home and this latest project does just that.”
Gary continued: “We are extremely pleased to have Pochin’s on board and look forward to seeing our vision come to life.”
