Texas firm targets expansion in the North with new Manchester store
A US-based retailer and distributor of leather and leather-related products is expanding in the UK with a new Manchester store.
Tandy Leather Factory, which operates from its HQ in Forth Worth, Texas, will establish a new base in Unit 20 of Lime Square, on Ashton Old Road in Openshaw.
Officially opening its doors on October 30, the new store will serve the general public while also serving wholesale customers.
The company’s president and CEO, Jon Thompson, said: “We are excited about the potential of this store as it allows us better opportunity to expand our customer base in the northern part of the UK by having a physical presence in the area.”
With the new Manchester branch set to focus on the North, the firm’s seven-year-old Northampton store will now concentrate on targeting sales in the South.
Jon continued: “We are confident that the UK can easily support the two stores with additional room for expansion as the customer base grows.”
Founded close to 100 years ago in Texas, Tandy Leather Factory, Inc., sells leather, tools for leatherworking and dyes, as well as saddle and tack hardware. The company operates 28 wholesale stores, 82 retail stores and three mixed retail-wholesale branches.
