Trafford clothing firm’s £250k venture sees lively start
Clothes2Order, a Manchester-based clothing supplier, has invested £250k in a venture through which designers, clubs and other organisations can sell their own branded merchandise, with 1,500 stores already created.
The firm’s managing director, Michael Conway, said: “The stores are proving very popular, as organisations with limited funds and little storage space no longer have to estimate demand and lay out large sums on stock.
“All items are produced on demand, and it’s a way for groups and individuals to monetise their brands as they can set their own prices.”
The stores trade from Trafford Park-headquartered Clothes2Order’s own website, with merchandise sellers including Facebook communities, bands, sports teams, bloggers and the Women’s Engineering Society, which established a Clothes2Order store earlier this year for the second annual National Women in Engineering Day.
Michael added: “We are delighted with the response so far to our initiative, which helps us to improve our service to a growing customer base.”
