Barclays funding paves the way to expansion for Darlington road planning firm
Teesside-based Todds Highway Maintenance Limited, which specialises in road and footway planning, has secured funding from Barclays to facilitate expansion plans.
Headquartered at Henson Road in Darlington, the company will be investing in new machinery that will enable it take on and complete larger jobs.
Graeme Todd, Director at Todds Highway Maintenance Limited, explained: “We’ve seen steady growth since we started in 1996 and the new funding from Barclays has enabled us to purchase a new Wirtgen W220 Cold Milling Machine.
“This new kit will enable us to complete the larger jobs we do more quickly and efficiently and add to our growing range of equipment which includes low-loaders, road sweepers, asphalt rollers, pavers and bobcats.”
He continued: “Our customers range from private individuals right through to Local Authorities so it’s imperative that we have the latest equipment to compete effectively and provide the right service for our customers.”
“Todds Highway Maintenance Limited now employs over 35 people locally and they are proud of the training they provide to keep their work force fully qualified. Turnover this year is expected to exceed £4m.
Mike Wicks, Senior Business Banking Manager at Barclays put together the funding package for the deal and said: “Graeme and his family operate an impressive business and run state of the art equipment to maintain their excellent reputation for their operations. It’s great to be able to support a local business that is thriving and expanding for the future.”
