Oldham firm Medlock secures Premier Inn contracts worth millions
Construction and fit-out company Medlock FRB has landed contracts with hotel chain Premier Inn worth £3.2m.
The Oldham-based firm has started work on a scheme in Penrith, Cumbria, and another near the Trafford Centre in Greater Manchester.
Construction efforts at the Premier Inn near the Trafford Centre, to be completed later this month, include an extension to add 20 bedrooms and a refurbishment of the hotel’s reception.
At the New Squares shopping centre in Penrith, meanwhile, Medlock has started building a 60-bedroom, three-storey Premier Inn and restaurant due for completion in February 2016.
Colin Drury, the finance director at Medlock, said: “We have an extensive track record of delivering new-build hotels and extensions on time, on budget and safely.
“We are delighted to be working with Premier Inn again as it continues to expand to meet growing demand.”
The new contracts with the hotel chain follow two earlier projects, delivered by Medlock, to extend Premier Inn sites at Leeds/Bradford Airport and Stafford North.
In 2014, Medlock saw its revenues grow by 69% to 18.54m following a string of new client wins, including pub chain JD Wetherspoon and Curzon Cinemas. This year, the firm is expecting sales to reach £20m.
