Leeds shower tray manufacturer aims to expand following London contract win
Shower tray manufacturer JT has secured a significant contract win with the London City Island development by EcoWorld Ballymore, following a growth period.
The Leeds-based firm has seen an increase in overall sales with a growth of 20%, four times greater than the 2015 market average (5%) with strong sales in the product, JT Fusion, and further growth in the aqua cushion floor, JTSOFTSTONE.
This spike in sales follows JT signing a long-term deal to supply 1,450 apartments in the high-rise residential scheme at the 12-acre London City Island by EcoWorld Ballymore with its low profile range of JTFusion trays.
Work on the new development at London’s £2bn “mini Manhattan” will start this year with the complex expected to be complete in 2018.
Founded in 1988, JT currently manufactures around 7,000 shower trays a week. It was also the first company to launch low profile trays in the UK, which now accounts for over 50% of all sales.
Furthermore, to meet the demand from UK and international customers, JT has financed a six figure capital investment in its production site and an extension of its night shift working, growing capacity and productivity.
Paul Crossley, managing director at JT, said: “We at JT are enormously proud of our team’s achievements and our investment to extend our production capabilities to serve new contracts in the pipeline.”
“Our design-led JT Fusion range complements will fit into the contemporary design at London City Island perfectly. When we produced the first ever acrylic capped low-profile tray, we knew that the quality of design and innovative easy-to-install features would make a product like no other.
“The JTFusion range has performed fantastically since its launch six years ago and this appointment at London City Island is testament to a quality product and a strong brand. We look forward to working with City Island at what will be a unique and stunning location.”
