Knight Frank Newcastle's 55 to 55 challenge
KNIGHT FRANK NEWCASTLE’S 55 TO 55 CHALLENGE
Knight Frank’s charitable Day of Giving, which saw all Knight Frank offices around the UK raising money for five chosen charities, was a huge success for its Newcastle office which chose to run a continuous, 24-hour, relay race undertaking laps of Quayside, crossing the Swing Bridge and Millennium Bridge - a combined total of 277 miles, which is the distance between Newcastle, 55° North, and Knight Frank’s head office at 55 Baker Street, London.
“I think the 24-hour marathon race by continuous cycling, running and walking was an amazing idea,” says Knight Frank’s regional partner in charge, Peter Bowden. “It was not only inventive but it also took a great deal of commitment by all who were involved. There were 45 members of staff who took part and we raised over £2,000, a wonderful result.”
The charities which will benefit for the donations raised are Bumblebee Conservation Trust, Crohn’s and Colitis UK, Guide Dogs, LandAid and Mary’s Meals, a global movement that sets up school-feeding projects in some of the world’s poorest communities.
