Company Shop to create dozens of jobs with new Greater Manchester store
Surplus food redistributor Company Shop is set to create 50 jobs with the opening of a new Greater Manchester store.
The firm’s upcoming 8,000 sq ft centre in Middleton, on the Stakehill Industrial Estate, is set to open next month and adds a fourth location to the firm’s portfolio, which comprises stores in Grimsby, Corby and Barnsley.
Vijay Patel, the manager of the new Middleton store, said: “We are so excited to bring Company Shop to Greater Manchester and we can’t wait to open in November.
“I’m very proud to be taking on the management of this store and to be working for a business that does so much good for its members and the food sector more broadly.”
He added: “I look forward to managing Company Shop’s development and expansion in Manchester.”
MIDAS, part of Manchester Growth Company, supported Company Shop’s expansion by providing market information, property searches and recruitment services.
Daniel Storer, MIDAS’ director of business development, commented: “Company Shop is a welcome addition to the region’s food and drink sector and the business will benefit from Greater Manchester’s established cluster of food and drink manufacturing companies.
“We look forward to seeing Company Shop thrive, developing new business across the region and strengthening existing relationships with clients.”
