ROI Solutions to combat North West skills gap with latest partnership
Preston’s College is continuing its push to tackle the region’s increasing skills gap with the announcement that ROI Solutions, its training provider, has signed a new partnership with the University of Sheffield’s Advanced Manufacturing Research Centre.
ROI Solutions teamed up with the Rotherham-based AMRC to bolster its provision of continuous professional development (CPD) courses in the North West.
Preston’s College’s vice principal, Carl Speight, said: “We’re thrilled to have AMRC Training Centre on board as our latest partner.
“Its approach towards skills delivery is very much aligned with our entire ethos and vision at the college, which is to provide businesses with the most employable workforce that possess the skills, experience and qualifications that the company and their industry wants and needs.”
Carl added: “We are very much looking forward to the road ahead and ultimately achieving our vision of becoming the leading provider of skill-based and STEM education in the North of England.”
Established last month, ROI Solutions provides an employer-facing service that includes training, apprenticeships, CPD programmes, higher education courses and e-learning. Around 80% of the organisation’s learners are adults.
Graham Small, a CPD training manager at the Rotherham-based AMRC Training Centre, commented: “We are delighted to be working with Preston’s College to provide opportunities for companies in the high value engineering sector to continue to develop their employees’ knowledge and skills.
“Our trainers will deliver a range of education programmes, starting with a suite of one-day metallurgy courses.”
Graham continued: “We will also be offering opportunities for technical staff who are routinely involved in the processing or testing of metals-based products to secure the METTECH Metals Technology Certificate.”
