Salford-based green energy firm creates $8m US facility
Salford-based green energy company ENER-G Cogen International (ECI) has expanded its business in the US with a new $8m facility.
ECI’s American subsidiary, ENER-G Rudox, used the cash to establish new headquarters in New Jersey after growing its workforce by 25% in the last three years.
The new centre will expand the firm’s production capabilities and be used to showcase its green energy generation products.
ENER-G Rudox’s CEO, Alan Barlow, said: “I’m extremely pleased to announce the $8m expansion for ENER-G Rudox and celebrate the new jobs that will come with the investment.
“These are still challenging times for the US economy, but as the recovery continues, ENER-G Rudox is well positioned as a forerunner in the sustainable energy field.”
He continued: “ENER-G Rudox’s technologies typically provide a 15-20% reduction in a firm’s carbon footprint and assist customers in attaining carbon abatement.”
ECI, which was founded in Salford in the 1980s, creates, finances and maintains energy efficient and renewable energy systems. Today, its combined heat and power (CHP) systems are installed in more than 1,500 hotels, leisure centres, hospitals, supermarkets and factories worldwide.
