Manchester accountant best in the world
Harriet Fisher from accountants RSM in Manchester scored 90% on her recent ACCA (the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants) exam. Her result was enough to finish top out of the 22,078 fellow students who sat the P3 (Business Analysis) exam.
Andrew Leck, head of ACCA Western Europe, said: “Passing your professional exams is extremely tough, they are designed to test our students thoroughly and ensure they are ready to become fully qualified professional accountants. Harriet has done remarkably well to not only pass her exam but to finish top of all students who sat the Business Analysis paper.
“It takes hard work, dedication and an understanding employer to combine work and study as Harriet has done. I’m sure her colleagues at RSM will be just as proud of her achievements.”
Richard Smith, Head of Risk Advisory at RSM said: “We recognise that all exams are difficult but winning a Global Prize is a great result and demonstrates Harriet’s commitment, talent and hard work. We are all extremely proud of her.”
Before starting her ACCA qualification Harriet completed a degree in History & Spanish at the University of Manchester. She currently works as a Senior Auditor in RSM’s internal audit division.
