Billion Dollar Business Milestone in Czech Republic for Spreadshirt

Ecommerce Platform’s Strong Growth Leads to Third European Production Facility

Spreadshirt, the ecommerce site which makes it easy to buy, sell and create ideas on merchandising, has responded to demand by opening a new production facility in Krupka, in Ústí nad Labem Region, a north western region of the Czech Republic. The company’s sixth production centre joins two others in Europe and three in the Americas. This worldwide presence means Spreadshirt is able to ship to nearly 200 countries worldwide.

This marks another notable milestone in Spreadshirt’s global expansion and moves them closer toward their ultimate goal − to become a billion dollar business for publishing ideas on everything the company offers in less than 60 seconds.

Philip Rooke, CEO of Spreadshirt says, “Our incredible growth has lead to the need for a new production facility, which is a significant milestone for us. The steady demand to spread it with Spreadshirt means that we need more production capacity in Europe. So the factory in Krupka will make it easier to respond to demand, give us greater flexibility and make us more resilient. As Krupka is close to the distribution hub in Dresden, it fits well into the Spreadshirt set-up.”

The new production facility is also relatively close to the company’s HQ and first production centre in Leipzig. Krupka will start out with a limited range and produce 2,500 t-shirts, aprons, hoodies and other items a day. During 2016 this will step up to 5,000 per day and the full range of products and printing techniques. The first products were printed for training reasons in Krupka in mid-October.

Spreadshirt’s production centre in the Czech Republic means that it is now active in 20 countries. In addition to its production facilities in Leipzig and Krupka, Spreadshirt has four others; one in Poland, two in the USA and one in Brazil.
