Major contracts boost turnover at Martin-Brooks
Turnover at Sheffield-based roofing specialists, Martin-Brooks, has risen by 15% in the last 12 months, with volume of work reaching its highest level since 2008.
The firm’s rapid increase in business is reflected across its commercial and domestic divisions, resulting in the recruitment of an extra four fulltime site operatives.
A number of large scale contracts have been secured this year, building on record results from the 2013-14 period, in which turnover rose by 20%. Recent projects include work on Manchester’s Northern Quarter and a cinema and retail complex in Harrogate, as well as new and re-roofs for recognised brands such as Primark, Aldi and Mercure Hotels.
This ongoing success is also enabling Martin-Brooks to invest in improvements to its head office and storage facility, expand its fleet to service the additional labour and offer apprenticeships to another two trainee roofers.
Martin-Brooks director, Nick Brooks, said: “We are pleased to see such significant increases in turnover for two consecutive years and we remain optimistic this trend will continue. Our reputation is growing nationwide and has, so far, taken us as far afield as Dunfermline, Plymouth and Penrith this year. By investing in staff and infrastructure we aim to capitalise on this momentum and look to further increase our market share.”
Martin-Brooks retains a varied mix of clients, ranging from homeowners to builders of all sizes and public sector organisations. Thanks to its heritage expertise, it also works with architects, private clients, the National Trust, English Heritage and local church councils on historic and listed buildings.
