Manchester United sign multi-year deal with global footwear brand
Manchester United have announced a new multi-year deal with footwear brand HEROES S.R.L.
The partnership will see the company produce a collection of United lifestyle shoes aimed at the club’s 659m-strong global fanbase.
The group managing director Manchester United, Richard Arnold, said of the deal: “Football is all about teamwork and to play like a team it’s important to look like a team.
“Our partnership with HEROES will not only provide our first-team squad with well-designed and well-made formal shoes, it will also allow our loyal fan base to be included in that team spirit by wearing the same brand worn by our players.”
He added: “As a new and innovative luxury brand, HEROES has the ability to offer our fans original and exciting products that will allow them to express their support for the club in ways they haven’t been able to before.”
The announcement follows last month’s rumours of a lucrative takeover bid from China-based CITIC Capital, which the firm later said were “unfounded”.
Alfredo D’Acchioli, the chairman of the supervisory board at Da Vinci Luxury AG, which owns the HEROES brand, commented: “Our partnership with Manchester United is a dream come true and we are thrilled to be working with the world-renowned sports club.
“This is the first partnership of its kind for HEROES and we are confident that Manchester United’s enthusiastic fans will be the ideal audience for the launch of our HEROES brand. We look forward to huge success.”
The new HEROES collection will be made available at the end of November.
