IRM Responds to the Strategic Defence and Security Review
Dr Ian Livsey, Chief Executive said:
“The Institute welcomes the £12bn investment into defence pledged by the Government. In the wake of increased extremist activity, coupled with the threat of pandemics and increase in cybercrime, the UK must remain able to respond rapidly to crises as they emerge.
National security and economic security are inextricably linked, and enterprise risk management lies at the core of both. This strategic review demonstrates the commitment in defending trade and our citizens both here and abroad.
As an Institute we also welcome the extra £1.9bn investment into cyber-security, we are working to develop new training packages on this subject and issuing guidance to our members and the wider community“.
