Legal experts help local businessman toast Teesside bar
A Middlesbrough businessman investing in the town’s thriving pubs and clubs scene has taken over a well known venue with the help of Teesside’s leading commercial legal firm.
Commercial property experts at Stockton-based Endeavour Partnership advised on Concept Leisure’s takeover of the venue, formerly known as The Keys, on Linthorpe Road.
Following the acquisition, Concept Leisure has renamed the bar The Townhouse and has retained all of the team from The Keys and will continue to hold Teesside’s most popular student night, Mixtape, which hosts well known bands and DJs. Concept Leisure plans to introduce new nights, more live music and new cocktail menus over the coming months.
Simon Hatfield is highly regarded for his work in the leisure sector on Teesside and, working alongside experts at Endeavour Partnership, is currently planning on expanding his portfolio in 2016 with a new venue at the Bedford Street development.
Simon said: “I have huge confidence in Middlesbrough’s night time economy with a host of varied, new venues opening and proving really successful. I am really excited about the plans for The Townhouse which has inherited a fantastic team and reputation as well as a loyal following. Jamie at Endeavour has made the whole process efficient for us and we’re looking forward to working on further projects together.”
Endeavour Partnership has a reputation spanning over 15 years and has continued to grow at its base at Teesdale in Stockton. Earlier this year, it announced its best year to date following a period of growth and restructuring during its 15th year in business.
The commercial legal experts, with a team of 44, are on track for faster growth with the firm ahead of predictions to double its £2 million turnover in the coming five years.
Jamie Brown, a partner in Endeavour’s commercial property department, said: “It is very encouraging for the town that smaller, local operators are reacting quickly to the demand and availability in the marketplace. Simon has a clear vision of what he wants to achieve in Middlesbrough and his venture and ambition is already a clear success. At Endeavour we’re ideally placed- professionally and geographically- to advise on such development in the region.”
