Wigan Trade Park to encourage enterprise
A new trade counter development has launched in Wigan with the aim of boosting enterprise and economic improvement in the area.
Wigan Trade Park, located on Manchester Road, officially opened its doors with the support of Wigan Council’s deputy leader Cllr David Molyneux.
Developed by CRT Property Investments Ltd, a subsidiary of the Coalfields Regeneration Trust, the 17,500sq ft park comprises five industrial units ranging from 3,000 sq ft to 4,000 sq ft.
Coalfields’ property investment and development director, Shaun O’Brien, said: “In less than a year we have taken what was a derelict site and made it into a space that will benefit business and the wider community.
“We are so pleased to be opening the doors to our first trade development and would like to thank everyone involved with a special mention going to Councillor Molyneux for his continued support.”
He continued: “By encouraging business owners to expand into the area and local entrepreneurs to consider Wigan as a place that can help to kick start their dreams; this development will bring new employment opportunities and future investment to the town and its surrounding areas.”
Bromborough Paints, an independent decorators’ merchant in the North West, has become the park’s first tenant.
Cllr Molyneux commented: “I’m proud to be able to offer my support and would like to thank the Coalfields Regeneration Trust for inviting me to the launch.
“As someone who has been closely involved in this development, it is a real turning point and I can’t wait to see the positive changes that the Wigan Trade Park will have on the local economy.”
