Hythe housing development creates hundreds of local jobs
A housing development in Hythe is giving the local economy a boost, underpinning 380 jobs in the area.
Martello Lakes, the latest development from five star housebuilder Barratt Homes at Hythe, will see 380 people involved in the construction and sales of the 190 new homes – with most being local sub-contractors and tradesmen.
Pam Reardon, sales and marketing director, says that as well as the thousands of jobs supported, the local economy will receive a further boost when the people who move into the new homes spend their wages locally. “This translates into a significant boost for local retailers in the Hythe area,’’ said Pam.
“We have seen demand for new homes expand very quickly over the last few months and the new site we are opening means that there will be more choice for local buyers,’’ she added.
Barratt Homes, which was recently named a five star housebuilder for a record sixth year in a row, is set to build 190 new homes at Martello Lakes with the development set to be previewed early 2016.
The development features a range of two bedroom apartments and two, three and four bedroom houses.
